Noosa Hinterland

An architectural masterpiece nestled on a hilltop on rural acreage in the Noosa hinterland, the luxurious home combines Asian influences with smart technology while maximising indoor/outdoor lifestyle.

Fully automated using Dynalight technology and with stonework from the 16ha site used in its construction, the six-bedroom abode also features recycled wharf timbers in the entry portico, New Guinea rosewood doors, a home theatre, a raised gourmet kitchen overlooking a sunken lounge, a double-sided fireplace, sweeping walkways, curved walls, curved bifold doors, Duce timber windows, water features and a resort-style wet-edge infinity pool.

With the home designed by SBT Designs in Doonan, SCG Engineers from Noosa and local contractors and suppliers were also involved in the construction project and assisted in overcoming the challenge posed by rocky and steep terrain on a site chosen for expansive views that take in Noosa North Shore, the Lake Macdonald valley, Pomona and Mount Tinbeerwah to the ocean as far south as Coolum.

Described by Master Builders Association Awards judges as “cutting-edge design meets outstanding construction”, the house essentially hangs from the side of a rocky hill; the deck is 6m off the natural ground level with a suspended slab and a massive concrete void underneath.
